Inside Gateway Arcana, open Settings > Help & About for guides to card study, Quiz, readings, Open Table, Journal and backups. Practice and the Fool’s Journey are optional; you never need to complete them to use another tool.

Report a problem

Include your device model, iOS or iPadOS version, app version, the steps you took, what you expected and what happened. A screenshot can help; hide personal writing before sending it. Do not send passwords, Apple Account information or payment details. Private Journal entries and full backups are normally unnecessary.

Back up app data and deck artwork separately

Settings > Backup & Restore exports and restores app records, including Practice notes and Fool’s Journey progress. Settings > Deck Library has a separate artwork export and restore for your personal decks. Keep both if you want a complete manual backup.

Journal and reading exports are readable documents, not app restore files. Save a current backup before resetting the app or replacing data with a restore.

Add or update your own decks

Open Settings > Deck Library to create a named deck, add its card back and scan or import artwork for individual cards. The app creates a cropped and resized stored copy; your original Photos image is unchanged. Choose your preferred deck, rescan a face or archive a deck you want to keep without using it. Reference artwork remains available when a personal scan is missing.

If an image cannot be opened, select it again from Photos or try a clear camera photo. Send the error wording to support if it continues.

Optional iCloud Sync

Use the same Apple Account on each device and enable iCloud Sync in Gateway Arcana on each one. Sync is optional and off on a new installation. Check that iCloud is available and has space, and allow time for larger deck artwork to transfer. Practice answers and Journey progress currently remain local; use app data backups to preserve them.

Turning sync off preserves the local copy and stops that device from synchronizing; it does not automatically erase data already in iCloud.

Quiz results and Open Table reversals

After you view a completed Quiz’s percentage, its active session closes automatically and the results remain in history. An unfinished Quiz can still resume. Open Table remembers its Reversals toggle until you turn it off, including after restarting the app.

Purchases, refunds and app terms

The planned U.S. launch price is $4.99 as a one-time App Store purchase. Gateway Arcana has no subscription or in-app purchases. The price shown in your App Store storefront applies.

Apple handles purchases and refund requests. Visit Apple’s purchase support to request a refund. The app is licensed under Apple’s applicable standard app license agreement.
